  7. With ICS you can make your scans look like from the professionals.
  8. By  using  ICS  scan  quality  is  DRAMATICLY(!)  improved without
  9. requiring the user to manualy adjust scan colors while scanning.
  10.  
  11. This is the first release of ICS after nearly two years development.
  12. Support for ICC Profiles and more type of devices (printers,...)
  13. is planned for the next major release.
  14.  
  15. ICS already is directly supported by ScanQuix, ScanTrax and
  16. ImageFX.  Other scanner drivers authors will soon add direct ICS
  17. support to their scanner drivers.  But ICS can also work
  18. independent of any specific scanner software using a stand-alone
  19. image file converter.

  21. ICS does work in 3 steps:
  22.  
  23.  - You do scan a calibration target with your scanner software
  24.    and use the incl. ScanTarget programm to create a profile
  25.    for your scanner.
  26.  
  27.  - You do select your monitor or standard (PAL, sRGB, NTSC,...)
  28.    you want to color correct the scan for.
  29.  
  30.  - Now all scans with your scanner software will be color corrected
  31.    automaticly.

  33. It's as easy as that...

  35. ICS  supports  standard IT 8.7 (ISO 12641) from Kodak, Agfa, Fuji,
  36. CorelDraw/PhotoPaint and "Epson Color Reference Chart" calibration
  37. targets.

  43. Changes since V1.08:
  44.  
  45. - Changed: ICS Calibration Target was slightly changed
  46.            to fully support the ISO 12641 standard:
  47.            - Size of patch was changed from 6.3mm to 6.5mm.
  48.            - The intersection of the lines of the fiducial
  49.              marks are now 3.25mm from center of the nearest
  50.              color patch.
  51.            - Width of lines of the fiducial marks lowered
  52.            - Text labels changed.
  53.            - Size of grayscale patches now twice of color
  54.              patches (just slightly higher).
  55. - Changed: Internal locale text was linked twice causing the ICS
  56.            software files to be bigger than necessary.
  57. - Added:   Reference file for new ICS calibration targets
  58.            added.
  59. - Changed: EMail/Documentation/Registration changed to make use
  60.            of new http://www.ics.coloraid.de internet site.
  61. - Changed: Now expires on 01-Sep-2000 (10 minutes)
